What You Will Need To Clean Your Fridge Freezer

Note: The first step towards properly cleaning your fridge’s freezer is by defrosting. Only then can you thoroughly clean the freezer. To begin with, you should turn off the appliance and allow it to defrost. Now, let’s get right to the cleaning process.
Step 1: Empty out the freezer: As mentioned earlier, the cleaning process is best carried out when your freezer is empty. Obviously, you cannot attempt to clean the freezer when it is fully stocked with food. You can take out your groceries and put them in a cooler filled with ice. Also, since the appliance will be unplugged, you should empty the fridge compartment of all perishable items and put them away in another fridge or cooler.
Step 2: Remove and wash all detachable shelves and drawers. To avoid cracking, ensure that the whole appliance is at room temperature before you begin this step. You can wash the detachable shelves in warm soapy water. Also, ensure you use mild or fragrance-free soaps so that you don’t transfer scents back to the freezer which can be transferred to your food.
