Like every housewife I also want my home to be sparkling clean, unfortunately this is extremely difficult. I go to work full-time and sometimes time just isn’t enough although I get support form my family. They really help me a lot with the cleaning chores but somehow we can’t manage wit all of them. Regarding the daily cleaning chores we don’t have any problems, the kids take care for most of the things even wash the dishes after we’re done eating.
The vacuum, mop and remove dust in addition to the fact that their room is sparkling clean every time. Of course I can’t make them do everything so I take care for the major cleaning of the rooms, it takes me one day of the weekend but it has to be done. As far as the deep cleaning I admit I hire professional help, after all I too have to rest and carpets are not so easy to deal with. On the contrary thorough cleaning hides many risks and I’ll tell you some of them.
Dry Or Steam Cleaning?
These are the two basic types when it comes to deep cleaning – the one is steam cleaning also known as hot water extraction. The second one that has some sub-types is dry cleaning, I’ll tell you a few words about each type so you can decide which one is the appropriate one for your textile flooring and upholstery. Before you decide to attempt thorough cleaning I recommend you see what type of fabric you have because if you clean it with the wrong method you can permanently damage the fabric.
So I’ll start with dry cleaning and a few words about each sub-type, the first one is absorbent powder. For those of you who have moisture sensitive textile flooring this is the recommended cleaning method. First the technicians will vacuum the carpet removing any solid particles with powerful industrial vacuum. Next the powder is applied and agitated with special tool, after several minutes it is vacuumed and the carpet is clean no rinsing, no excess residue.
You may wonder how it powder works – it is simple the particles blend with dirt particles and when you vacuum you remove them all. Next comes the encapsulation which I prefer, it was explained to me this way. A special solution is applies to the fabric covering the dirt particles with a coating making them like small capsules. The crystallized particles are then sucked via vacuum and the carpet is clean.
There are some other dry cleaning methods but I personally prefer hot water extraction, it is the most effective. A special cleaning solution is mixed with hot water which is forced into the carpet via pressure. It penetrates deep into the fibres dissolving dirt and any build ups. The dirty water is then sucked into the cleaning machine. This method is used for car upholstery cleaning. The main disadvantage is you’ll have to wait for about two or three hours until the carpet is completely dry.
